Exposed coatings on steel degrade over time due to factors like UV rays and acid rain. As the coating wears down, moisture can penetrate the steel surface. Combined with oxygen, this triggers an electrochemical reaction that accelerates corrosion.

We utilizes advanced methods to eliminate rust and defective coatings. Once the surface has been adequately prepared, our certified applicators apply a high-solids epoxy barrier coating for maximum protection. To further shield the steel, a UV- and abrasion-resistant urethane topcoat is applied. We recommend "stripe coating" all edges, corners, and weld seams between coats to ensure adequate dry film thickness (DFT).

For added cathodic protection, we can apply a zinc-rich primer to the abrasive-blasted steel surface before completing the coating system. This additional step enhances the steel's resistance to corrosion.
